Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Katie - Adopted

Katie is a 4 1/2 year old, spayed, liver & white Pointer. She was turned in to her local shelter when her previous owner left home for college. She is good with people and loves attention.

Katie is a happy dog who enjoys playing ball and exercising, which helps her settle down. When tired, Katie likes to curl up on her very own blanket.

Katie shows signs of both basic obedience training and hunting ability/training. Her current foster family is familiar with training upland game dogs and believe Katie has not only been introduced to birds but has also hunted while on a checkcord or long line.

While Katie is considered to be housebroken, she has had an occasional "accident" while with her foster home. This can most likely be attributed to the new surroundings and routines associated with a new home. With time and patience, Katie will settle into whatever routine her new owners set for her.

Katie does like to dig but that can be controlled with games that stimulate her and keep her from becoming bored. She is afraid of cats and very afraid of thunderstorms.

If you'd like to learn more about Katie, please contact the PRO Adoption Coordinator, Carrie at carrie.sablone@pointerrescue.org and she will put you in touch with the foster home.
