Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Ellie Mae is Happy again!

Ellie Mae is a liver and white female, approximately 5-years-old. She is currently living in a foster home in Georgia. Ellie Mae was formerly a resident of a no-kill shelter which closed down. The owner of the shelter tried to keep several of the dogs in her own care, but was eventually unable to adequately care for so many dogs. A local rescue group was helping out when they discovered that Ellie Mae and several other dogs were being kept in very small kennels with no protection from the hot summer sun and no reliable source of water. And so, Ellie Mae came into rescue.

Ellie Mae is reported to be in good health, except that she is obviously very overweight. She was being fed well at the kennel, but got no exercise. She is otherwise in good health, current on her vaccinations and heartworm negative. Ellie Mae is said to be great with other dogs, but is afraid of gun shots and thunderstorms. Ellie is a sweet dog who is ready for a real chance at a happy home.

If you would like to learn more about Ellie Mae, fill out an Adoption Application and you will be contacted by the Adoption Coordinator who can put you in touch with the foster home.
