Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

If you love the pointer breed, but want one that is past the rambunctious stage, please consider Kate, a senior dog in San Jose, CA, with lots of love left to give. She is a liver and white female, approximately 10-years-old. Her previous owner cruelly dumped Kate at a shelter during the holidays after so many years of loyal companionship. She was terrified in the shelter and not doing well, wondering what she had done wrong and when her family would return. Fortunately, Kate was taken in by German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue, even though she is not their breed. She is doing much better now in a foster home and still loves people, no matter how the world has treated her.

Kate has a clean bill of health. She is current on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and has already been spayed. She is approximately 22" tall and weighs about 47 lb. She is good with other animals, including dogs and cats. She is good with children and has the more mellow personality of an older dog. Pointer's are exuberant dogs, and Kate is still very playful. She is housebroken and has had some obedience training.
