Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Eli Is an All-Over Tail Wagger

Eli is a liver and white male, approximately 3-years-old. He was found wandering with his friend Rastus, a German Shorthair Pointer, and both dogs were turned in to the Glasgow County, Kentucky animal shelter. When Ohio German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue went to get Rastus, they could not leave Eli behind. He is just too sweet! So they took him into their program. Eli is currently in a foster home in Dublin, Ohio.

Eli is at the shorter end of the field pointer spectrum at 20" tall and weighing about 34 lb. He is in good health, current on his vaccinations and heartworm negative, and neutered. Eli loves to snuggle--he absolutely adores people! He is a little shy at first, but warms up pretty quickly. Seems to be fine with other dogs. He is very wiggly and very petite for a pointer--about 38 lbs. We don't know how he is with cats. He seems OK with kids, just a little shy--would need kids that know how to act around dogs, as I think overly boisterous youngsters would frighten him. He has a desire to please and to be with people. He is housebroken.

His foster has been running him on the birds a bit, and he does seem to have some hunting ability and desire. Just needs love and patience. No bad habits have been noted by his foster home.
