Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Freddie is Eager to Meet You!

Freddie is a liver and white male believed to be between 3 and 4 years old who adores everyone he meets. He was rescued from the animal shelter in Miami, FL where he was being kept in a run with 8 or 9 other dogs. He was very thin, covered in ticks, dehydrated, malnourished, and ready to give up on life. A PRO volunteer was able to get help from a local rescuer pulled him and another pointer from the shelter. Freddie is now with his foster family in Eustis, FL (near Orlando) and doing great, bouncing around and discovering that life is fun again! He's extremely sweet, wags his tail all the time, and has a great attitude in spite of his near death experience.

Freddie is neutered, up to date on shots, and is heartworm negative, on heartworm preventative. His foster family have nicknamed him "Freddie Sniffle Snuffle" because he just gets so excited when you talk to him or play with him and he starts going "sniff! snuff! snuff! sniff!" and bouncing his front feet back and forth like he is dancing. Sudden noises startle him, so he would most likely not be a good hunting dog as he might be gun-shy. He gets along great with the family's seven other dogs and doesn't bother the African grey parrot in his cage in the house. He has done well in the house and in a crate, and the foster family is working on housebreaking and reports he is doing well.

To learn more about Freddie, fill out a PRO adoption form and someone from PRO will be in contact with you shortly. Be sure to mention your interest in Freddie when you fill out the form.
