Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Here's Winkin at You

Winkie is an approximately 5-year-old liver and white pointer who was turned in by his owner to the vet to be put to sleep because the owner said he was traveling too much and didn't want to bother boarding him. Some kind people at the vet's office decided he was too nice of a dog to be put to sleep and they contacted pointer rescue, and Winkie is now in a foster home in Massachusetts awaiting his forever home. The foster home says Winkie is very sweet, although can be possessive over people and food with other dogs. They say he is a fence jumper, although he doesn't go anywhere. In fact he jumped out of one yard and back into another to be with a dog and nearer to the house! He will need a lot of exercise and a strong handler. You could estimate his age as 3-5. Invisible fence will likely be the best. He is very sweet with people, needs obedience. Okay with other dogs with that tendency toward possessiveness. Very voice responsive

If you are interested in making Winkie a part of your family, please fill out a PRO Adoption Application and our adoption coordinator will contact you.
