Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Highcroft has High Hopes!

Highcroft is a 2-3 year old Black and White male. Rescued as an abandoned pet, Highcroft lived on Highcroft Lane, that's where he got his name. He was severely underweight upon rescue, and apparently had been left behind for weeks. He now weighs 49 pounds and looks great. He is fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and already neutered. He is a real sweetheart, gentle to all he meets even cats. He is very sweet and loves to cuddle, but will lie down quietly when asked to. He readily goes in his crate to sleep at night even though his foster brother gets to sleep on the bed. He loves to play with his new foster brothers. Winston (my Pointer) is bigger and tougher than Highcroft, but Highcroft is not intimidated. They chase each other in the yard, play tug-o-war, and share toys willingly. He is possessive of his food, but eats well in his crate. He is not really leash trained, but he walks well on a leash and does not pull excessively. He prefers to be close to his person.

Highcroft has been living in a rescue shelter in a run with about 10 other dogs, but now he lives in the house. He has proven to be very adaptable and accommodating to the new environment. He goes outside to the bathroom, and goes to the door when he wants out. He may have been housebroken, but no one really knows. He does not jump or climb the fence.
