Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Very Special Girl Seeks Very Special Family

Annie was picked up as a stray and out of time at a shelter in Baton Rouge, LA. When we rescued Annie, she was very thin, had barely any hair, and was heartworm positive. Now she is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and has been treated for heartworms. She’s a healthy and happy girl!

Annie is a small liver/white female Pointer weighing under 40 pounds. She is extremely affectionate and will be a lapdog if allowed. She is just as content sleeping in your lap as she is pointing birds and squirrels in the backyard. She walks well on leash and has been contained in our 4’ chain linked backyard with no escapes. Annie is crate-trained and she absolutely loves her crate; she eats, sleeps, and hoards everyone’s dog toys in there. She is friendly to other dogs, but she is protective of her crate if they come too close. She is fine with people around her crate…I can pet her and stick my hand in her bowl while she’s eating. Annie has been around children with no problems; she is inquisitive towards them and shows no fear. She is also very smart: I trained her to ‘sit’ and ‘down’ in only (3) 5-minute sessions! Annie is housetrained…she’s usually goes to backdoor when she needs out; we only had a couple of accidents in the house. Annie does like to counter-surf so we crate her when food is on the table.

Above all, Annie is one of the sweetest dogs that we have ever met! Please give her a chance to steal your heart as she has ours! Click here to learn more.
