Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

That Special Someone

Hazel is a deaf 2-3 year old, 40 pound, liver and white English Pointer, who was abandoned last year by her backyard breeder owner when he moved away. A neighbor took over basic care, but left her outside. Hazel came to us in March with her two young pups who have now been adopted and it's Hazel's turn to find out what a real home is. Hazel has a nice temperament, is gentle with children and good with other dogs, but is very active. She can scale a 6-foot-privacy fence with ease and needs room to run. She would make a great jogging partner. She does have her quiet side as well, and has learned after a lifetime of neglect to sit quietly and enjoy being groomed and loved on.Her foster mom is teaching her sign language and working on house and crate training. Hazel is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and will be spayed before adoption.
