Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

What a Sweet Girl!

Sue Ellen is a 2 1/2 year old pointer that was recently pulled from a kill shelter. She is white with liver spots, weighs 35 pounds, and shows a strong pointing instinct. She even points in the house, which my pointer doesn’t do! She is crate-trained, spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on shots and heartworm preventative. She is very friendly and loves other dogs and people. She lived her early years in a hunting kennel but was given up because her owner didn’t like the way she hunted! His loss is going to be someone’s lucky gain, as that she is very sweet and a nice girl. Unlike so many of the other rescue pointers, she doesn’t appear to have been starved and she has great muscles and a soft, shiny coat. She loves to take walks, and walks nicely on the leash. No counter surfing or horrible behavior, but she will pick up little bits of paper or plastic on the floor. However, she is easily corrected if given a chew toy! She would like to play with our Pointer more, but he’s not sure he likes having a foster sister. She is currently in foster care with us but needs to be placed ASAP.
