Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Hi, I'm Abe! It's so great to be able to take a bath now and eat some good food. I was a "last chance animal" at the shelter, and that means my time was VERY limited. The doctors think I'm about 3-5 years old. Like most Pointers, I adore people, especially if they scratch my chin and rub my floppy ears. However, I will need a home where I can get lots of exercise. After being neutered, I am starting to do a little better with other male dogs, especially if they are smaller than me. I was extremely underweight, so it's obvious my former owners weren't taking very good care of me, but I'm slowly gaining weight back. I love to ride in the car, and when I get tired, I curl up into the smallest little ball on the back seat. I'm current on my vaccinations, neutered, and have even had my teeth cleaned! We are still working on housetraining, but I'm a fast learner. With the help of a crate, I'm sure we could take care of that pretty quickly. My last family didn't take very good care of me, so I'm looking to be spoiled rotten by my new family. So, what do you think? Please, please, can you give me a chance?
