Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Meg is named for her nutmeg-colored ticking. Other than that she is snow white, even her eyelashes. Meg likes squeeky toys and apples. She likes to nap in her crate with a toy or cookie, but will not be happy left in a crate daily. She is very active and needs a big yard or daily trip to the dog park. Meg likes to spend time with her humans. Even at the dog park she spends most of her time meeting all the people. She is friendly with strangers, both humans and dogs. She gets along well with other dogs and is mostly submissive.

Meg was very shy coming into foster care. She had never been in a house and was scared of her leash. She likes going for walks, but is sometimes fearful when the leash is first introduced. Meg is house broken and uses a doggy door. She is startled by loud noises and loud voices, so a home with small children may not be appropriate. Meg sometimes "tinkles" when startled. This has not been a problem since she adjusted to our home and our expectations of her.

Meg's ideal home will offer lots of exercise and attention. She will be fine with or without another dog, but does want to be with her family most of the time. A family with older children or just adults is preferred. Meg enjoys boating and going on vacation. She is a great travel companion. If you have room in you life for a tall, beautiful blonde who enjoys the finer things in life, Nutmeg is your girl!
