Hunting for a Home
Bishop was picked from the Oconee Co. Animal Control in Bishop, GA (hence the name!) after he was found wandering down a dirt road in a very remote area. He's a sweet boy that was probably someone's high dollar hunting dog (appears well-bred) until they either ruined him with poor training or got tired of feeding him. He appears to have buckshot in a few places in his hindquarters and he's very afraid of gunfire (wouldn't you be if someone shot you in the rear?) Despite his abusive past, Bishop is a very affectionate, devoted, and gentle boy that will shyly creep his way up to you and into your lap in no time. He loves to be petted and talked to, walks well on a leash, and likes people and other dogs of all ages.
Bishop is approx. 4 yrs. old, is HW neg., current on shots, and microchipped. He's been examined by a vet and is in good health despite being quite thin. He will be neutered 7/26 and will be available for adoption immediately afterwards. He'd make a great running/hiking partner or sofa pal! Wouldn't you like to have such a handsome guy to be your best buddy?? If so, contact Kate Kiley at Field of Dreams Gun Dog Rescue, Inc.
