Katie is a six year old, liver and white, female, English Pointer. She was surrendered to a local shelter in Missouri by her previous owner, no reason why was given.
Upon arriving to her foster home, we realized Katie had not been socialized around people. She is extremely shy and timid and takes time to warm-up to you. After being here a few months, Katie is beginning to come out of her shell. She gets along well with other dogs and will tolerate children if not too rowdy. She enjoys going outside to run around the yard with the other dogs.
When inside, she likes to chew on her bones and lounge on the bed/ or couch. For the most part, Katie spends much of her time around the family now, except when things get too loud. She then will seek comfort in her crate. She is crate trained, housebroke and very trustworthy when left alone. Katie will usually sleep in her crate at night, even though her crate door is left open. Her crate is her comfort zone.Katie was sired by Miller's Silver Bullet. However, hunting is not in Kate's past, nor her future. Katie's home needs to be patient and understanding of her socialization issues. Her new family will need patience with lots of love and attention to give this sweet girl.
Kate is current on vaccinations, spayed, micro chipped, heartworm negative, and on flea/heartworm preventions. If you would like to learn more about Katie - please fill out on adoption application.
