Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Sweet Miss Birdie

Birdie is between 1 1/2 and two years old. She weighs around 40 lbs. and stands around 20" tall. She is very lean, muscular and just beautiful with honey colored eyes. Someone dumped her at our farmer's son's home . He then brought her to his father's home across from us. She started coming over and staying with us. She would run all morning and then come in and sleep in the sun on the screen porch like a little lamb. She would sleep in the garage all night. She evidently was good when she was at their house with the dogs, cats, and 7 grandchildren. I know that it would not have been any other way because they would not have put up with it. She didn't chase the horses or the cows . She doesn't like firecrackers. Everyone just loves her; the children in the neighborhood love her. She has no training at all in bird hunting but she listens to commands fairly well. She needs training, patience, and love with an experienced person that knows the breed. We are just too old to handle her. She has been spayed and has had all her shots and is on heart worm prevention. She's had her dew claws removed and the Vet says she thinks she lost her way from home because she is such a nice English Pointer.
