Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Say Hi to Little Skye!

Meet Skye! Skye is an ~1-2 year old small English Pointer (~40 lbs). She was found as a stray in February and brought into Wake County Animal Control very frightened and thin. Luckily she caught the eye of her foster mom and didn't have to suffer the fate of many of the strays at local county shelters. Skye has been living in a foster home since 2/16/05 and is completely housebroken. She is somewhat shy and afraid of loud noises (i.e. backfire from a car, gunshot, clang of a pot or pan). She is slowly improving on her fears since entering foster care. Skye doesn't have a mean bone in her body and has been very fun to work with. She loves other dogs and would love to have a playmate in her new home to help her adjust, burn energy and be more confident. Skye walks well on a leash with and is learning the art of not pulling on her foster mommy. She could benefit from an obedience class or two to learn more basic commands. She would make a great companion for an active outdoor individual or family with older children. Skye is hoping for a home that will continue to show her the love she has found in her foster home, allow her to sleep on or near the bed (she prefers to be on it. . .right between your legs), and will let her join in the family fun. She is a BEAUTIFUL dog with a goofy joyful personality that is starting to shine. Skye is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations (DHLP, Rabies and Kennel cough/Bordatella), current on HW and flea and tick prevention and microchipped. She tested HW positive in February and was treated in March and has come through the treatments with flying colors.

P.S. She is ALWAYS getting dirty! :)
