Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Brownie Needs a Home

Brownie was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Oregon. She is a wonderful, little tiny Pointer (just 39 lbs). She has a very high prey drive and is very birdy. Brownie cannot be around cats. She does love children, but is really bouncy and knocks little ones right down. She doesn't like to be messed with when she's sleeping either and will snap at unsupervised toddlers. She points and holds on any bird she sees (cats too).

Brownie is great with other dogs when she's loose with them, but if she's in a kennel run and they are loose, she acts very aggressively. She seems to have spent most of her life locked up, as she revels in being allowed to run free on the farm here. She comes when called, after she's run her energy out, about 1-2 hours. She sits, waits, loads up and will stay down if reminded. She is VERY housebroken, although she will chew inappropriately if left alone in the house during the day, loose. She is fine in a crate, and fine at night on her dog bed (sleeps all night).
