Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Keller Needs a Special Home

Keller has a life story like a movie character. He's the Disney baby abandoned by his family that turns out to be Prince Charming! Keller, bilaterally deaf, came from champion field trial bloodlines and was dropped off at the vet's office by his breeder to be euthanized while still a young pup. Fortunately, vet staff took pity on the poor pup and got him into rescue but his sad story didn't end there. The rescue he went to had too many dogs and too little time or money and couldn't give him the care he needed. Keller finally came to us in worse shape then he started out - a thin boy w/ mange and lots of scratches on his face from struggling to free himself from the crate he was staying in up to 10 hrs. a day. Today Keller is putting on weight, the mange has been treated, and the scars are fading. He spends his days running and wrestling with the other dogs instead of trapped in a crate. Keller is approx. 1 1/2 yrs. old, very affectionate, great with other dogs, housebroken, HW neg. and on preventative, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He knows a number of hand signals and is very attentive so is highly trainable. Keller adores people and LOVES the water! He'll spend hours playing in the wading pool, sprinkler - or a bucket of water! Keller's adoption fee is $100. Atlanta area adopters get free first training session with Sirius Dog Academy and Susie Aga, Atlanta's Premier Dog Trainer w/lifetime follow-up training.
