Sidney has come so far. Farther than the shelter in Oklahoma, farther than one could imagine.
Visualize a timid, frightened dog, terrified to budge when lifted out of the private plane that flew him to his foster home. Afraid to be in a car, scared to cross the threshold into the world of gentle hands, good food, warmth and comfort.
Fast forward to today. Sidney knows his name, sits on command, is learning the down command, he knows what "NO" means. The scared young pointer boy is gone. A new boy is blooming. He runs, he plays, he jumps for butterflies. Sidney is people and dog friendly, neutered, hw-, up-to-date on shots and is just a young at heart 2 yr old. His confidence is soaring. He has also mastered the invisible fence and now has the freedom to roam his back yard! Sidney is no longer crated at night, or during the day. He has his favorite sofa spot and loves to nap there. He is just one of the gang here, but still looking for that forever home.
Sidney has been field tested and is not particularly birdy. He is somewhat gun shy. So while I wouldn't rule him out as having some hunting potential, it would have to be after significant gentle training.Sid is one handsome boy - photos don't do him justice or show the darling pigment spot on his nose. Pictures can't capture the adorable "shake wiggle shimmy" he does first thing in the morning. On point he is stunning! He knows where the bunnies hide, and would like to give them a run for their money. He is still hesitant to get into a vehicle, and needs to polish his obedience skills. But, he's a quick study at new things - provided yummy cheese is involved!
For more information about Sidney, please fill out a PRO Adoption Form and someone will be in touch with you soon!
