Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

My name is "Maggie". I'm a little liver and white Pointer girl with dark brown eyes, weigh about 41 pounds, and about 5 years old. I was found by a nice Animal Control Officer, and brought to a shelter. I must have had a very hard life in the past - as I have lost most of my teeth - and the people at the shelter I was taken to called me "Grandma". It doesn't slow me down on food or treats, I just have to be careful. I'm current on vaccinations and crate-trained. I had heartworms and have been treated -- thanks to the shelter I was at. I've learned a bunch of new things -- like what "treats" are, playing with stuffed toys, getting belly rubs and hugs, and how my foster sister's bed is a great place for a nap. Ah, such a life I have fallen into! I've gotten along fine with the resident Pointers, and some "cousins" that have come to visit too. I have been known to try to get out of my fenced in yard - but I don't take off - I just am curious about what's on the other side of the fence! I'm looking for a home that will continue the spoiling that foster mom has started, keep me on heartworm preventative so I never get those nasty wormies again, shower me with the love and attention I so rightly deserve, keep me in the house with them so I have company, and provide me with a fenced yard so I can run and play. I'm currently in foster care near Lynchburg, VA.
