Henry has been in foster care for about 6 weeks. When he first came he was very timid and still is, but each day he begins to feel more comfortable and has developed into a wonderful dog.
He gets along great with my dogs so I do believe he has had lots of socialization with other dogs. He has no interest in cats, is housebroken, up to date on all vet work, is heartworm negative, on preventative, and is neutered. He is crate trained, but does have the run of the house including in the evening. Henry uses the crate mostly for his naps and to feel comfortable.
He loves to be outdoors and run and play, but will be very quiet in the house. I run him on a long training lead for exercise, but he does very well on a short lead and will always look back to see if I am still there. I would say his activity level is medium. He likes to play with his dog toys and will entertain himself quite often. He does like to steal scarves, socks and towels so I give him his own to play with and that keeps him happy.
I cannot say enough about Henry he is very sweet and does like to be petted, but is not a pest. He waits his turn for treats and has never shown aggression with food. He does not counter surf or jump on people - he really is a very mellow dog, but does get excited when getting ready to go out or when dinner is ready. He can be timid around strangers, but once he gets to know you he comes out of his shell. Eventually I do believe Henry would adjust to most situations as long as you are patient with him. I would love to tell you more about this great dog.
