Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Ready for My Second Chance

Layla is an approximately 1 year old pointer that is recovering from shotgun wounds to right front paw. Despite currently not being able to put weight on that leg, she is an active happy girl! She loves to run (or hop) around the back yard, chew on her toys and get belly rubs. You can see Layla in action here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dOuBUGt8F8

Fortunately, no bones were broken when she was shot and the prognosis for her leg is good. She is finishing up a round of antibiotics with her foster family and her adoptive parents will need to continue with her rehabilitation exercises to ensure the best possible outcome for her leg. These are very easy stretches that can be done at home.

Layla is crate trained and house trained and has a sweet, loving nature. Since she is only about a year old, she still has plenty of puppy left in her and will need some refinement on her manners in her adoptive home, especially regarding chewing. She is great around all people and other dogs (foster family has three dogs) and loves to cuddle.

Layla will make a great addition to any home!
