Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Fletch Needs Your Help!!

I went and visited with Fletch/Winston today. He is so calm. He walked well on a leash. When tested with an extremely grouchy chihuahua he just ignored her and wagged his tail. When tested with 2 cats he sniffed and wagged his tail. No chasing, pointing, or growling. I brought my laser pointer and he showed no interest. I brought a squeaky toy and still no interest. What is he interested in you might ask..... Being a lover! He is the most snuggly, calm, sweet, and loving pointer ever! He is thin and could stand to gain about ten pounds. He had a flea infestation that has caused some oozy spots on his back and rear. He is already neutered. This is a pointer who do well in a companion house dog situation. I would go as far to say he would do well with small children as he doesn't jump. He doesn't seem to mind being touched on feet, tail, body, or face. There were small rambunctious children in the waiting room and he just wagged his tail. When I sat down he just crawled in my lap. I would be willing to bet that this dog was supposed be a hunter and failed, or is gun shy.

Fletch (Winston) is in urgent need of rescue from the shelter. He is heartworm positive, which makes his prospects dim and shortens his time. If you can open your heart and home to fostering him, please complete a PRO Volunteer Form and indicate your interest in fostering Fletch.
