Dallas Needs Your Help!
*UPDATED PHOTOS & BIO*
Dallas (4 years old, fostered in South Carolina)
Dallas is a tall, dark, and slightly mysterious gentleman who likes to take his time getting to know new folks. Dallas loves routine and other dogs. In fact, he would do best in a home with at least one or two other dogs. He gets nervous in new situations—but does much better when there is another dog to show him the ropes. He is comfortable around cats; generally ignoring them or walking up to them carefully for a quick sniff.
When PRO rescued Dallas, he was thin and heartworm positive; obviously neglected and most likely abused by his previous owners. After months of loving care and good nutrition, he is healthy and ready for his forever home. He does have one small and shrinking wart (canine Papilloma virus) on his lip. This is not a problem for other dogs who are healthy and at least one year of age. None of his foster brothers and sisters have contracted the virus.
Dallas is approximately 5 years old, neutered, and micro-chipped. He is also on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative and currently resides in South Carolina. Dallas enjoys the security of his crate, and has had no housebreaking accidents since moving to his new foster home. This sweet boy is great on the leash, knows the sit command, and generally comes when called. Graceful he is not. He “gallumphs” after the ball and then gingerly drops it at your feet, endearing himself to you with his soulful eyes. The ideal forever home for Dallas would be on the quieter side, perhaps older children or adults only. His new family needs patience as he learns about the new household and routines. He is slow to relax when presented with new situations, but the rewards will be great as this sweet, gentle boy is very eager to please!
