Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Sally Needs a New Home

Sally - 12 years old, fostered in Pennsylvania
Dog ID#: 160112-P-B-GA
Intake date: 1/30/16
Available for adoption: now!

In search of a retirement home with treats, walks, love, and laughs.

Sally would do best in a home without children as they make her anxious. Her current foster home has grandchildren that visit frequently so we are seeking a more appropriate foster home for her. Apply to foster here: PRO Volunteer Form

Sally is a Georgia Peach! She lived and was bred on a hunting plantation. She was turned in to a vets office to be euthanized because she was "too old to hunt". She was saved at the last minute by a kind person from an all breed rescue, and they reached out to Pointer Rescue to take her in. Sally came to rescue emaciated and heartworm positive. She was spayed before she traveled to her foster home, and she is quite the Queen of the household - she inspects each and every newcomer and prefers dogs that are calm and non-dominant. She completed treatment for Heartworms in May 2016 and is ready for an adoptive home! She is now crate trained, and walks well on a leash. She isn't the type to counter surf, and likes to do circles of joy when she first wakes up, and when she comes inside from hanging out in the yard with her buddies. Sally is around 12 years old, but has loads of life left in her - Sally says 12 is the new 4! Sally LOVES having a canine companion to pal around with in the yard. When she sees another dog, she really lights up.
