Garnet Needs a New Home
Garnet - 6 years old, fostered in Ohio
Dog ID#: 171503-P-B-GA
Intake date: 1/21/18
Available for adoption: Now!
I was found as a stray in Georgia and thanks to PRO made a road trip to Ohio earlier this year to begin my heartworm treatment. I also was just recently spayed and had a couple of benign masses removed. As much as I love it here in my current home, my foster mom says there is a great family or individual out there who will love and keep me forever.
No one is absolutely certain of my age, so let's say I'm a very active younger girl of about 5 or 6 years. I'm a gal that likes to be on the go. Not to say I won't relax in the house but I prefer to be running or exploring with you. Did I say I like to run? Not marathons, but I have a high prey drive so if I see birds, rabbits or squirrels I get a bit obsessed! I am not cat friendly for that reason.
My foster home has other Pointers and we get along great. When a new one arrives for foster, I try and ask them to play.
I spent a lot of time on crate rest during my treatment and I'm over it! I am okay crated for meals, when my foster mom is away, or it's my bedtime.
Sometimes though if I am not taken outside for long periods when loose in the house, I still will have an occasional accident. I probably never lived in a home before so you just need to be mindful.
Garnet is a smaller size female, loveable, super silly and seems to socialize easily with people and other dogs. She can be a picky eater preferring canned food over dry kibble.
When it's time to put her walking gear on, she does a hilarious back roll.
Garnet is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and is being given heartworm and flea prevention monthly. Her foster mom can answer further questions to approved applicants.
