Roarke Needs a New Home

Roarke 7 years old, fostered in Florida
Dog ID#: 181763-P-D-IL
Intake date: 10/7/2018
Available for adoption: Now!

Roarke comes to us from Illinois, where he was found as a very malnourished stray. He was terribly skinny and the shelter worked to get him feeling better and to put some meat back on his bones. Roarke was positive for heartworms, and he has been treated for them and will be ready for his FURever home in early December. Roarke is a DREAM on a leash and loves to go for walks, checking out his surroundings and taking in the scenery. He is also a big fan of car rides and loves to meet new friends.

Roarke is making big strides on his house manners, but sometimes he gets that "I'm a puppy in an adult body" sparkle in his eye and tries to instigate a game of catch me if you can! He may knock things over in these comical moments, but it isn't his fault if his tail or nicely rounded thighs topple knicknacks or thingamabobs. He likes to try to "help" fold laundry, especially towels but don't be surprised if he decides one is a flag to be waved!

Roarke is a VERY sweet boy who loves to give love. He likes to give hugs and can sometimes slobber in his exuberance to love people. Roarke is great with kitties and he is fine with most dogs, although dominant dogs are not something he'd like to encounter on a daily basis.
