Dottie's been placed in a new home!
Dottie is a 3-year-old black and white pointer who has been in foster care for two years through the Best Southwest Humane Society in Duncanville, Texas. Dottie was rescued from the local pound because they were going to have to put her down and the humane society thought she had good prospects with enough time. Dottie wasn't adoptable at first, since she was heartworm positive and had to be treated (a long process). She also came in with skin allergies that needed some attention. Two years later, however, Dottie is in good health and ready for a new home with that special family. She is current on her shots (rabies, distemper, parvo, corona, lyme and giadiosis) and is on a heartworm preventative. She weighs 65 - 70 lbs. She knows how to use a dog door and is very energetic!
According to the foster home, Dottie is a dominant dog with an impressive bark, but she is actually very friendly and sweet. She sometimes has trouble with other dogs, but is currently getting along well with the two males in her foster home. She seems uninterested in cats, so she should be O.K. with them.
