Pointer Rescue -- helping to make a difference

Rhett's a Real Charmer!

Rhett was rescued from Oklahoma where he was living in deplorable surroundings. He is a 3 year old, liver and white, neutered male. Even though Rhett’s living conditions were less than desirable, this fantastically loving Pointer sat with his eyes fixed on his future foster-mom, just pleading for a little attention. As Rhett pressed his face against the fencing, it was as if he was saying, “Give me a chance, let me show you I can love.” Rhett was immediately rescued by his new foster family and brought to Texas.

Upon entering his first foster home (with the family who saved him) and meeting his six foster brothers and sisters, Rhett was a bit cautious. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with the welcome he was receiving, not to mention the freedom and THE TOYS!

It became apparent to Rhett's foster family that he was most likely abused. After three days of getting acclimated, this resilient Pointer showed he could be one of the pack (human and dog)! He played gleefully with his foster family as he ran around the backyard with his favorite toy wedged in his mouth. He also enjoyed sitting majestically on the hill under the old oak tree while looking out and keeping watch over the neighborhood.

Rhett was adopted by the family of a PRO volunteer. You can tell from his picture above, at Christmas 1999, that he found the most perfect loving home!
