Hunting For My Forever Family

Patty is a 5 year old liver and white female. She is not spayed, but will be before she is adopted. Patty's former life was as a kenneled hunting dog. She came to the shelter in horrible condition - she was emaciated and had open gunshot wounds. She has put on weight nicely, and the wounds have healed, although she still has scars on her back.

Patty's foster home reports that she is wonderful in the house, although a bit tentative, as she has never been in one before. She gets along great with the 4 adult dogs and 2 six-week old puppies at her foster home, ignores the cat, and even lets the baby raccoon crawl all over her without a grumble! She is very attached to her crate, and will spend much of her day in it, even when it is open. She is, however, more than willing to let the other dogs sleep in there with her.

Patty loves to "shake hands" and will do it all day if you let her! She hasn't quite grasped the concept of toys yet, but we're sure it won't be long. Patty is capable of climbing a short fence, but stops immediately when called.

Patty is very happy, content and eager to please. She loves to hear any praise or sweet talk. She is an amazing girl who has come through a lot and deserves to live a quiet and spoiled life. If you think you are the one to give Patty her happy forever home, please fill out a PRO Adoption Application and our Adoption Coordinator will be in touch with you soon!
